I was just relaxing... the day had been a weary one, and I had decided to take a break from the paper I was writing (to be turned in the next day, of course). Just as I closed my eyes, I heard a commotion at the back door... something was up with the chickens, who had been let out earlier in the day so that they could graze for bugs and whatnot in the fenced in backyard. I rushed to the back door, expecting some sort of nasty scrap between a few of the more agressive birds. I swung open the door, and was greeted with silence. Five pairs of eyes swung in my direction. Confused at thier state (three or so of them had perched themselves up on the deck chairs), I just thought nothing of it, chickens will be chickens mind you. I shooed them off of the porch and chased them all into the safe confines of thier coop. Or so I thought.

turns out, now two of our chickens are missing, and well... we found part of one... her wings... and spine... and ribs... and we havent seen the other....
